Bunker morning obs and drawing afternoon
Hej folks!
After writing blog posts for four months in Skagen, here I am!
As winds and rain made ringing impossible this morning, all of us went out for morning observation in Sabine's bunker to hide from the weather. The wader migration was pretty decent, and we saw a bit more seabirds today than during previous days. Our highlights were some Mallemuk (Northern Fulmar), a Dværgmåge (Little Gull), some Sortterne (Black Tern), a Brushane (Ruff), two Almindelig Kjove (Arctic Skua), and a Sort Kjove (Great Skua).
Taïma and Sebastien left the station to go on a road trip before heading back to France. We'll miss you guys! Have a safe trip and enjoy Denmark! :D
Alex Rosendahl arrived at the station today and will be staying for a few days.
During the afternoon, Isabel, who is an amazing watercolour painter, drew the outline of a Biædere (Bee-eater) for Lise to paint, while Sebastian and Lise drew birds for Jonas to identify. Can you guess the birds?
With an early dinner tonight that Jonas made, we all have time to do more things before going to bed. Jonas and Sebastian will go observing at the beach, while the rest of us will be having a little painting session. :D
Wishing you all a great week, and until next time!
