A tern of events
Usually, we expect poor observation days with NW winds. Today, we were wrong, and it started with a black tern—a real "tern of events"! The number of species wasn't high, except for the oystercatchers. Then we saw marsh harriers, a common sandpiper, red knots, redshanks, greenshanks, whimbrels, godwits, ringed plovers, grey herons, sanderlings, dunlins, and finally, a female goshawk! There were many kestrels around the swamp, and we spotted the goshawk because it was fighting with them. After that, we tried to find a Caspian tern, but that will have to wait for another day. Below are some pictures from yesterday, which was also an interesting day: very weak wind with no migration in the morning but much more in the afternoon.
