Feeling blue?

Today i had quite a busy morning. The weather was more or less the same as yesterday with 5 meters per second from east, and ten degrees. During the first interval i had 19 red-throated divers, and a decent amount of dabbing ducks, mixed geese as well as pippits and finches overhead. The day was going great and steady, with a lot of migrating black headed gulls. And then around 08.30 i had a large group of bluetits (blåmejse) heading towards the lighthouse garden and the nets in that area. Fifteen minutes passed and then i got a call from Lua,that they were quite busy with... you guessed it bluetits. So my aid was requested at the ringing instead. I quickly ran to nets and helped the ringers out for the rest of the day. We've been quite busy with a lot of birds. But more on that in the next bit.

Ringmærkning

Even though the forecast for today was rather dull, it still turned out to be one of the busiest days of the Autumn season yet! With over 240 birds, it all started with a small flock of coal tits and Chiffchaffs. Then we got a good number of song thrushes and a few random birds like a greenfinch and a tree Sparrow!

And then the invasion began! With over 130 blue tits we all got our fair share of a busy morning in the nets!
